On 2026-04-14, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Viet Nam signed a bilateral agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. Hong Kong Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung and Viet Nam's Deputy Prosecutor General Tran Hai Quan signed the pact on behalf of their respective sides in Hong Kong.
