Vietnam and Slovakia upgrade ties to strategic partnership

On 2026-04-13, Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico agreed in Hanoi to upgrade bilateral ties to a strategic partnership. The two sides also adopted a joint statement and assigned their foreign ministries to prepare an implementation action plan. The deal covers trade, investment, defense and security, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and people-to-people exchange.
