Nigeria Senate approves President Tinubu’s $516 million loan request

On 2026-04-29, the Nigerian Senate approved a $516 million syndicated loan requested by President Bola Tinubu to fund construction of Section 1, Phases 1A and 1B of the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway. The approval followed consideration of a committee report during plenary in Abuja and would incorporate the Deutsche Bank-arranged financing into the federal borrowing plan.
