Ghana launches Crisis Safety Net Strategy to protect vulnerable people

On 2026-04-04, Ghana's Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection formally launched the National Shock-Responsive Social Protection Strategy in Accra. The nationwide framework is intended to fast-track support for vulnerable populations during emergencies, with development partners including the World Bank Group, UNICEF, WFP, the British High Commission, and NADMO pledging support.
