Romania to send humanitarian aid to Lebanon after EU request

On 2026-04-16, Romania said it would provide 15 tonnes of food, tents, and bedding supplies as humanitarian aid to civilians in Lebanon. The National Committee for Emergency Situations, convened by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, approved the assistance in response to a request via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, and the Ministry of National Defence was to transport the aid to Beirut via Amman.
