Canada announces new defence investments to bolster military readiness in Saskatchewan

On 2026-04-24, the Government of Canada announced more than C$8.2 million in federal funding through the Regional Defence Investment Initiative for three projects in the Yorkton area of Saskatchewan. The funding is intended to help Canadian small and medium-sized businesses expand into domestic and international defence supply chains, including a C$5 million repayable investment for Parkland Welding & Machine Ltd. and PWM Hydraulics Ltd.
