Uma Bharti protests against action targeting roadside eateries by selling Poha-Jalebi outside her home

On 2026-04-07, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti staged a protest outside her private residence in Civil Lines, Tikamgarh, by setting up a Poha and Jalebi stall. She was opposing the administration's anti-encroachment drive against roadside eateries, after municipal and district officials demolished several food stalls on the footpaths the previous day. Bharti also called on vendors to reopen their stalls in the same place.
