Tibetans mark 37th Panchen Lama birthday, renew call for China to reveal whereabouts

On 2026-04-25, the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress organized a gathering at McLeodganj main square in Himachal Pradesh to mark the 37th birthday of the 11th Panchen Lama and call on China to reveal his whereabouts. Participants held Tibetan flags and placards and raised slogans, while a separate Tibetan Women’s Association event included prayers for his safety and well-being. No violence was reported.
