Indigenous protests in Brasília against anti-demarcation legislation under Lula

On 2026-04-07, thousands of Indigenous people marched in Brasília along the Esplanada dos Ministérios toward the National Congress to protest bills seen as restricting demarcation rights and opening Indigenous lands to economic exploitation. The demonstration was part of the 2026 Acampamento Terra Livre mobilization and also pressed the Lula government for faster land demarcations. No violence was reported.
