Tariff refund portal initially can’t process a third of requests

On 2026-04-02, the United States government said the new tariff refund portal was still incomplete and would initially be unable to process about a third of refund requests. The filing said more than 26,000 importers had registered to seek $120 billion in refunds, and that processing could take up to 45 days once the portal launches.
