On 2026-04-02, Moniepoint completed its acquisition of Kenya’s Sumac Microfinance Bank after receiving approvals from the Central Bank of Kenya and the Competition Authority of Kenya. Moniepoint now controls a 78% stake, marking its first significant purchase in Africa and entry into East Africa.
