Election Commission and TMC meet in Bengal ends on bitter note over voter deletions

On 2026-04-08, a four-member Trinamool Congress delegation met the Election Commission of India to raise concerns over alleged deletion of more than 80 lakh voters in West Bengal. The meeting ended on a bitter note after TMC leaders said Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar asked them to leave and the EC issued a terse response.
