UN mine action forum: Moroccan autonomy initiative promoted for regional peace

On 2026-04-22, Thami El Aissaoui, president of the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Monitoring Mine Risks, met with government representatives and global experts in Geneva during the 29th NDM-UN29 forum. He used the forum to promote the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative as a path to regional peace and dignity, alongside discussion of mine risks in the Moroccan Sahara.
