Afghanistan signs $1.5 million aid deal to assist returnees

On 2026-04-08, Afghanistan's Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation signed a $1.523 million cooperation deal with the Norwegian Refugee Council in Kabul to support returnee families. The aid will fund cash assistance and shelter rehabilitation for 3,097 returnee households across several provinces, amid the return of nearly three million Afghan migrants from Pakistan and Iran over the past year.
