UN chief appoints Ghana’s Anita Kiki Gbeho as South Sudan envoy

On 2026-04-11, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced the appointment of Ghanaian diplomat Anita Kiki Gbeho as the new Special Representative for South Sudan and Head of the UN Mission in South Sudan. The appointment was issued in a press statement from the United Nations and names Gbeho as successor to the late Nicholas Haysom.
