Kuwait reaffirms neutrality and calls for protection of maritime routes

On 2026-04-11, Kuwait’s Ambassador to South Africa, Salem Al-Shibli, spoke at a dialogue session on maritime navigation at the 9th Indian Ocean Conference in Mauritius. He reaffirmed Kuwait’s neutrality, support for international maritime law, and the protection of civilian and commercial shipping, while warning against obstruction of maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz.
