Putin calls for building a nuclear-weapon-free world

On 2026-04-30, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a statement read out by Russian Foreign Ministry ambassador-at-large Andrey Ivanovich Belousov at a conference at UN headquarters in New York. The statement called for additional multilateral efforts toward building a nuclear-weapon-free world and said Russia stood ready to develop cooperation on peaceful nuclear energy with interested NPT parties.
