Co-op Bank of Kenya plans shift to holding company structure

On 2026-04-22, The Co-operative Bank of Kenya said its board approved a corporate reorganisation into a group structure with a non-operating holding company at the apex. The plan would leave a new subsidiary, Co-op Bank Kenya Limited, to conduct the banking business, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals.
