Chicago inspector general: ex mayor aide used job to get child hired

On 2026-04-15, the Chicago Office of Inspector General released a quarterly report alleging a former senior mayoral aide used their city position to help get their child hired by a city contractor and to seek unauthorized payments for that contractor. The report said the staffer had tried to expand the contractor’s city work after the child obtained a paid internship.
