China strengthens intellectual property protection for emerging technologies

On 2026-04-24, China National Intellectual Property Administration deputy head Rui Wenbiao said at a news conference in Beijing that China would refine intellectual property legal frameworks with other authorities to better protect innovators in emerging fields. He said the administration had strengthened IP protection for sectors such as quantum technology, biomanufacturing, brain-computer interfaces, and 6G communications.
