India defers refinery maintenance to avert fuel shortage amid West Asia LPG import crisis

On 2026-04-06, Indian state refiners IOC and BPCL postponed routine refinery maintenance shutdowns to help keep fuel supplies stable amid disruption to LPG imports through the Strait of Hormuz. The move was aimed at preventing shortages as West Asia tensions curtailed imports, especially LPG, into India. Separately, Nayara Energy's planned turnaround in Gujarat was said to be proceeding from April 9-10.
