Jammu and Kashmir high-security prison is ready for use

On 2026-04-10, the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department issued a notification declaring the structures at village Dambra, Kathua district, as a prison and designating them as the High Security Prison, Mahanpur. The notification was issued on the orders of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and formally made the facility operational under the Union Territory government.
