Bahrain to review citizenship and revoke status for those linked to IRGC

On 2026-04-19, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain directed a review of citizenship eligibility and said Bahrain would begin necessary measures against those who betrayed the nation or threatened its security. The move was reported as an effort to strip citizenship from people found guilty of treason or espionage on behalf of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. The action was announced in Manama during a meeting with officials.
