Oman leads UN efforts for a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Middle East

On 2026-04-30, the Permanent Mission of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations, with the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs, organized a side event at UN Headquarters in New York on progress and prospects for a Middle East zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. Oman’s UN ambassador Omar Said Al Kathiri delivered a statement in his role as chair of the relevant conference track.
