Oireachtas committee hears Irish hospitals face €120m total funding gap

On 2026-04-23, the Dáil Public Accounts Committee heard from the Mater hospital, St Vincent’s University Hospital and Tallaght hospital about a combined funding shortfall of more than €120 million. The hospitals said they were still in talks with the Health Service Executive about a final budget and warned the gaps would affect service delivery and staffing. The event took place in Dublin.
