Uganda government links teenage pregnancies to rising fistula cases

On 2026-04-20, Uganda's Ministry of Health said persistent obstetric fistula cases are linked to high teenage pregnancy rates and delays in emergency maternal care. The ministry signed a partnership in Kampala to expand reproductive health services, adolescent health education, and fistula prevention and treatment in underserved regions.
