Fresh Benue attack kills traditional ruler, wife, and son

On 2026-04-25, gunmen attacked the royal residence in Olegabulu community, Agatu Local Government Area, Benue State. Chief Momo Awodi, his wife Abigail, their son Boniface Ochowechi, and two other residents, Ochowechi Ochegwu and Deborah Ochowechi, were killed. The attackers reportedly arrived on motorcycles and opened fire on the family and residents.
