India farmers to receive produce payments within 24 hours, faster wheat pickup

On 2026-04-09, authorities in Punjab said farmers selling procured wheat at mandis will receive payments within 24 hours, with arrangements also made for timely lifting of purchased wheat. The announcement also reiterated that wheat will be bought at the MSP of Rs 2,585 per quintal and that delays will not be tolerated.
