BIR warns missing payments voids estate tax amnesty benefits

On 2026-04-27, the Bureau of Internal Revenue in the Philippines clarified through Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 33-2026 that estate tax amnesty applicants may pay in installments, but missing any installment by its due date forfeits the amnesty. The circular said taxpayers then revert to the regular tax regime and applicable estate tax laws at the time of death will apply.
