UK opens £132m Fishing Industry Fund to support coastal communities

On 2026-04-13, the UK government relaunched the Fisheries and Seafood Scheme, opening a £132 million Fishing and Coastal Growth Fund for fishermen, seafood businesses, and coastal communities across England. The program, administered by the Marine Management Organisation and funded by Defra, supports workforce development, safety, processing, regeneration, and port infrastructure over five years.
