Nepal to pay government employees’ salaries every fortnight to boost economy

On 2026-04-21, Nepal's Ministry of Finance decided to change government employees' salary payments from monthly to fortnightly to encourage spending and support economic recovery. Officials said instructions were issued to the Financial Comptroller General Office and a circular was sent to departments to prepare the rollout. The policy is intended to improve cash flow and liquidity in the domestic economy.
