Delhi residents may face higher electricity bills this year

On 2026-04-21, the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) directed Delhi’s power regulator to begin recovering nearly Rs 38,552 crore in accumulated regulatory assets. The order is expected to push electricity tariffs higher over the next seven years, with consumers bearing the cost through phased bill increases.
