Religious liberty ruling backs Christian counselors

On 2026-04-02, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 8–1 in Chiles v. Salazar in favor of a Christian counselor and against Colorado’s ban on so-called conversion therapy. The majority held that the First Amendment barred enforcement of the state policy against the counselor.
