Italy pushes “Hormuz humanitarian corridor” for fertiliser shipments

On 2026-04-02, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said Italy was willing to take part in multilateral initiatives to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. He also said a clear UN mandate was essential and backed an immediate de-escalation and return to diplomatic dialogue.
