Sri Lanka launches programme to expand school cadet corps for national reconciliation

On 2026-04-06, the National Cadet Corps of Sri Lanka, working with the Ministries of Education and Defence, held a workshop at the Northern Province Governor’s Office in Jaffna to promote expanding cadet corps in schools. Officials said the initiative was intended to strengthen ties among young people across communities and encourage schools in the Northern Province to introduce or expand cadet units.
