Countries debate Colombia’s plan for gradual oil phaseout

On 2026-04-25, Colombia and the Netherlands opened a first global conference in Santa Marta on the gradual phaseout of fossil fuels. More than 50 countries sent ministers and diplomats to debate a roadmap for reducing and eventually eliminating fossil-fuel dependence.
