Kenya to secure up to Sh150bn biodiversity financing under new BIOFIN program

On 2026-04-21, Kenya launched the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) in Nairobi and said it aims to mobilise Sh100 billion to Sh150 billion over the next decade for biodiversity financing. The program is convened by the Government of Kenya and UNDP and involves private sector, civil society, academia, and media partners.
