World Bank launches 'Water Forward' programme to tackle global water stress

On 2026-04-15, the World Bank and other development lenders launched the global Water Forward initiative in London to improve secure water access for a billion people over four years. The programme aims to mobilize public, private, and philanthropic financing for water management projects in 14 water-stressed countries across Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia.
