Uganda launches second phase of Elgon landslide resettlement programme

On 2026-04-02, the Government of Uganda launched the second phase of a resettlement programme in Giriki Sub-county, Kween District, to relocate landslide victims in the Elgon sub-region. The programme will provide verified households with cash support and two acres of land to enable permanent relocation away from landslide-prone areas.
