Nigerian Customs intercept fuel jerry cans bound for Boko Haram via Cameroon border

On 2026-04-18, Nigeria Customs Service operatives intercepted a fuel tanker and thousands of jerry cans of petrol allegedly bound for Boko Haram-linked networks through the Cameroon border. The seizure was announced at a press briefing in Yola, Adamawa State. Officials said the haul included 64,410 litres of petrol in 2,550 jerry cans, plus additional drums and vehicles; no fatalities were reported.
