HMS Tamar destroys 3.5 tonnes of explosives in Pitcairn Islands

On 2026-04-12, Royal Navy divers from HMS Tamar safely detonated more than 3.5 tonnes of ammonium nitrate on the Pitcairn Islands. The explosives had been discovered on the north of the island during an earlier visit, and the disposal operation was carried out with controlled explosions. No casualties were reported.
