Puntland forces foil ISIS attack on strategic water well in Somalia

On 2026-04-19, Puntland forces reportedly foiled an attempted Islamic State-linked sabotage attack on a recently constructed water well in Dhadaar, along the Jacayl stream in the Cal Miskaad Mountains of Bari region. Security forces intercepted the militants before they could damage the infrastructure. Three Puntland soldiers were injured, and no militant casualties were reported.
