Hungary’s Viktor Orban says he will not serve in Parliament again

On 2026-04-25, Viktor Orban said he would return the parliamentary mandate he won as Fidesz-KDNP list leader and would not take his seat in the Hungarian Parliament. He said the seat was technically for Fidesz and that he was needed instead to reorganize the party's national camp, in a Facebook video after a Fidesz executive committee meeting in Budapest.
