EU launches age-verification app technical fix

On 2026-04-23, the European Commission presented an age-verification app in Brussels as a privacy-first technical tool for proving users are over 18 without sharing personal data. The app is intended to help platforms comply with child-safety obligations under the Digital Services Act and is expected to be available for public download by summer 2026.
