CPKC and two labor unions forge “historic” tentative pacts

On 2026-04-27, CPKC announced tentative long-term labor agreements with SMART-TD and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen. The pacts would cover about 1,700 train and engine service employees across CPKC's U.S. rail network and consolidate 11 existing contracts into two hourly agreements.
