Ukraine Finance Ministry prepares new Customs Code with enforcement powers

On 2026-04-29, Ukraine's Ministry of Finance, via Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, said it was drafting a new Customs Code that would give customs law-enforcement powers and allow customs to investigate crimes within its remit. He made the remarks at a meeting of a parliamentary temporary investigative commission in Kyiv, framing the change as aligned with European practice.
