Azerbaijan decree expands Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources powers

On 2026-04-08, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree amending the Regulation on the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, expanding the ministry’s authority. The change allows the ministry and its subordinate bodies to issue opinions on land replacement, mineral extraction, and environmental compliance in specified cases. The action took place in Baku.
