AP to develop regulatory framework for social media ban for children

On 2026-04-09, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT & Electronics Nara Lokesh directed officials to prepare a comprehensive regulatory framework to restrict children under 13 from accessing social media. The proposed framework would also study age-verification tools such as DigiLocker-based age tokens and draft legislation for age-based content access and child safety.
