Lithuania inaugurates new military division, assigns key brigades

On 2026-04-13, Lithuania formally inaugurated its new military division in Ukmergė and placed the Iron Wolf and Žemaitija infantry brigades and the Juozas Vitkus Engineering Battalion under its command. Officials said the division had reached initial operational capability and will continue to expand with additional units and capabilities.
