Mob attempts to set office on fire during ethnic violence in Manipur

On 2026-04-20, a mob of protesters in Wangjing, Manipur tried to set a newly constructed Block Development Office on fire during ongoing ethnic-violence-related torch rallies. Security forces intervened and prevented the building from being burned, but a policeman suffered critical head injuries in the ensuing confrontation. No fatalities were reported.
